A plea hearing was held at the Belmont County Jail on Saturday Feb. 23 for Steven Moore, 38.
He plead guilty for two first degree felony charges of Aggravated Murder and Aggravated Burglary in the 2013 murder investigation of former Powhatan Mayor, Marvin Brown.
Following Saturday’s hearing Moore’s Attorney, Chase Mallory released the following statement:
“Today’s plea is representative of both Steven’s acceptance of responsibility and his willingness to cooperate with Detective Allar in his relentless efforts to deliver justice to the family and community. We appreciate the professionalism of Prosecutor Kevin Flannagan throughout this process and that of Judge Vavra, especially for availing the Court on a Saturday in the interests of justice,” said Mallory.
Ryan Allar, Chief Detective, Belmont County Sheriff’s Dep. told 7News the sheriff’s department has identified three other suspects in this investigation.
