The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley is doing away with one of it’s major contributions.
They’re going to discontinue the “Amazing Raise.”
It’s an effort they started back in 2014 with the goal of helping local non-profits raise unrestricted funds through online donating.
Directors say in 2018 people are more open to the idea of online giving and the goals of the foundation have been met, so it’s time to call it quits.
“Within those past five years, I think we’ve reached those goals. I think organizations are probably more well known than they were five years ago, those organizations that participated in the amazing raise and also I think that donors are a little more comfortable and a little more savvy with giving online than they were five years ago,” said Susie Nelson, Executive Director.
The foundation says their mission of helping non-profits to succeed is still living on. They’re already thinking of new programs that would benefit organizations on a more long term basis.
They hope to make an announcement within the next year.
