Most people cling to their windshield wipers through the winter months.
Well, some states including Pennsylvania and Ohio actually have laws requiring every driver using their windshield wipers, to turn on their headlights while those wipers are in motion.
If you don’t, Ohio drivers could be guilty of a minor misdemeanor, according to state law code 4513.03.
No such law in West Virginia but the state does require headlights be turned on during adverse weather conditions.
No laws on this one, but local law enforcement say you really should keep your windshield wiper fluid on full to avoid smeary windows.
“If you don’t have windshield solvent and you’re using your wipers, it’ll muddy up your windows pretty good. You know windshield wipers, you definitely need to use those in inclement weather. That’s for sure,” said Arthur Watson Jr, Chief Deputy, Hancock County Sheriff’s Dep.
