UPDATE: Oct. 17, 2018 at 10:50 a.m. Raleigh County Sheriff’s Deputies have identified a second victim whose body was found along Sullivan Road in the Coal City area of Raleigh County in August.
Deputies said the second body is of Lauren “Lulu” Jenkins. The body of Trevor Vossen was also found in the same area.
Sheriff Scott Van Meter said deputies believe Jenkins and Vossen were murdered in the Wheeling area and the two bodies were left in Coal City.
Van Meter said his department is working closely with the Wheeling Police Department to find the person or people responsible for the crime.
UPDATE: Aug. 27, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department has announced that a tentative identification has been made on remains found in Sullivan. According to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s office one of the bodies is Trevor Vossen of Wheeling, WV.
The case remains under investigation by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office.
UPDATE: Aug. 15, as of 9:15 p.m. The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the remains of two bodies were founds on Sullivan Road in Sullivan, Raleigh County.
They are investigating this case as a homicide.
UPDATE Aug. 15, as of 7:30p.m: 59 News spoke with the man that claims he found the remains, Wayne Browning. He said he is shocked at what was found.
“My son and I were driving around, looking for places to collect some fire wood for the winter and this is a place where they’d done logging a few years ago and we thought that we would get a few log butts there, so we pulled in the truck and as soon as we got out of the truck it was these bones were literally right by the side of the truck, and there were two skulls and an arm and some other bones and stuff laying there,” Browning said.

Deputies with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department are investigating remains found in the area of Coal City, WV. The call came in at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018.
Witnesses said the crime scene unit is set up on Sullivan Road. They were initially alerted to remains found in that area. It is uncertain whether or not the remains were human or animal.
