West Virginia Congressman shares thoughts about possible government shutdown

All eyes are on the nation’s capital as the deadline for a government shutdown is this Friday.

The main issue surrounds DACA, and democrats are threatening to vote no on the budget without a deal on immigration reform.

GOP leaders say they are working to discuss those matters to prevent the shutdown. 7News spoke with U.S. Representative David McKinley about his thoughts on the potential shutdown, and he says it’s not going to happen. “We’ve got a really tough situation, we’re trying to figure our way through it. The government is not going to shut down. If it does, shame on us that we couldn’t find a compromise some place in this, but right now primarily the issue stuck up is DACA.”

McKinley also says one of the issues being discussed is increased security on our southern border and whether that will be included in the deal.
