One West Virginia House delegate is speaking out about Loughry’s resignation.
Delegate Shawn Fluharty (D) says that this should’ve happened months ago. He also says that he wasted taxpayer dollars because of the impeachment trials where he was found guilty of his crimes. “The last thing we need in Charleston are liars, cheaters, and stealers. So I’m glad he’s getting out of there and getting out of the way.”
He’s glad that he has resigned, but not happy about what’s to come next.
“What I don’t like now is that Governor Justice gets to have yet another appointment to the Supreme Court. We get a back-room deal from Governor Justice, and that’s how it works, and a lot of people don’t understand that. There’s no confirmation hearings, I don’t get to ask any questions as a legislator, the Senate doesn’t get to ask any questions. It is purely a back-room deal, and that troubles me going forward.”
