Scammers pose as State Police trying to get your cash

West Virginia Headlines

There is yet another phone scam officials want you to be aware of, and this time the caller poses as a worker with the West Virginia State Police.

You are reminded if anyone claiming to be a trooper, law enforcement officer, or employee of the State Police requests money or baking account information, do not provide any information and hang up the phone.

The numbers do appear with a 304 area code, but they the numbers seem to be computer generated.

If you have received a call of this nature, contact your local detachment of the West Virginia State Police.
