One local high school choir has gained statewide recognition and will perform at the West Virginia Education Association annual conference next month.
The Young Patriots of Wheeling Park High School were recently chosen as the West Virginia honor choir. They were selected anonymously by a committee of 5 judges after submitting three recordings. They received the top score and will perform at the conference on March 8th.
“We are really excited,” said Ashley Linder of the WPHS Honor Choir. “We are going to get our own 45 minute performance and we are gooing to sing all of the songs we worked on all year– and things that we are going to sing in the spring and things we are going to sing in Hawaii.”
Later this year, the choir will perform at the first-ever Aloha Festival in Hawaii.
