Sunday marked the three year annniversary of deadly flooding in West Virginia.
On June 23, 2016 23 people were killed when flood waters ravaged large portions of the state.
Countless homes and businesses were also destroyed.
Some of the hardest hit areas included Kanawha, Fayette, Greenbrier and Nicholas Counties.
At one point in time as many as 44 of the state’s 55 counties were under a state of emergency at this time three years ago. Many of those areas are still trying to rebuild.
