Wheeling Central students to hold 48th annual canned food drive

News

Wheeling Central High School students took to the streets Thursday to help those less fortunate.

In their 48th annual canned food drive, students dropped off bags throughout various Wheeling neighborhoods, asking residents to fill those bags with non-perishable food items.

Those items will be donated to Catholic Charities of Wheeling at a later date.

“We want to be nice and give to those who don’t have much,” said Haden Barickman, Wheeling Central student.

Next Saturday, students will return to the neighborhood to collect the bags and deliver them to Catholic Charities.
