Wheeling Police giving public tours of police department ahead of bond levy vote

The November election is just about five weeks away and a big topic on the Wheeling ballot will be the bond issue to pay for a new public safety building that will house both the police and fire departments.

Ahead of that vote, Wheeling Police Chief Shawn Schwertfeger is inviting the citizens of Wheeling to tour the current police department throughout the month of October to see first-hand why he believes such a facility is needed.

Tours have been set for the following dates and times:

Tuesday, October 2 – 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, October 10 – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 13 – 11:00 a.m.
Tuesday, October 16 – 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 25 – 5:30 p.m.

If you would like a tour you can RSVP online at wheelingwv.gov/policetours or by calling 304-234-3732.
