A super nutritious plant is quickly making its way across the United States. 

Mostly found in India, Moringa is still relatively unknown in the country.

“People who don’t know and ask, when I explain it to them, they’re like, yes, I need this,” said Divya Alder, chef and owner of Divya’s Kitchen.

Moringa provides high levels of protein and contains multipe vitamins and minerals. 

One business owner discovered the plant during her trip to Niger as a Peace Corps Volunteer and implemented it into her menu.

“I did a little research and thought this plant is incredible,” said Lisa Curtis, owner of Kuli Kuli. “Why aren’t more people eating it?”

The plant’s nutrition levels depend on the part of the plant used and whether it’s fresh or dried. The entire plant is edible
