PITTSBURGH (WTRF) - After what could be described as an eventful 9 years, Antonio Brown has not only said goodbye to Steelers fans, but reportedly also officially to the Steelers organization.
The star wideout tweeted a video on Tuesday with the caption, "Thank you SteelerNation for a big 9 years...time to move on and forward........"
Shortly after this tweet was posted, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Brown officially requested a trade from Pittsburgh.
Now, the ball is in the Steelers' court, as Brown is ultimately still under contract with the team, but it has increasingly become apparent that this soon won't be the case.
If the Steelers are able to offload Brown, that would still not be the end of this saga: as reported by ESPN's Field Yates, regardless of when he is traded, Pittsburgh will take a hefty cap hit, the size of which depends on whether he gets traded before or after March 17.
