Wheeling’s own Travis Braden was third fastest speed in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards final practice Friday morning in preparation for Saturday’s Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire at Daytona International Speedway.

Braden is in his first fulltime season in the ARCA series, driving the number 27 MatrixCare-Consonus Healthcare-Liberty Village Ford for RFMS Racing.

“I’m happy,” said Braden. “I’ve learned a ton this week. My spotter and I have really learned how to talk with each other. Communication is really good. The qualifying thing (group qualifying) is kind of a crap shoot…in random groups. It’s going to depend on who you’re with. Between the test and here, I got a lot of drafting practice.”

Braden has four top five, and seven top 10 finishes in 10 ARCA starts. Braden has driven his own car, as well as the number 27 Ford for owner Don Fike in 2017, finishing 4th at Winchester in his first drive with the team.

Braden first participated in ARCA’s Road to Daytona program, getting the opportunity to test at Daytona International Speedway as a result of his ARCA/CRA Super Series titles.
