Kansas men’s basketball head coach Bill Self will not coach Saturday’s game vs. Arkansas, Stadium’s Jeff Goodman reports. This will mark the fifth straight game that Self has missed.
Self was hospitalized before the Big 12 Tournament with what the school described as “chest tightness and balance concerns.” According to Kansas, Self underwent a “standard heart catheterization” and was treated for blocked arteries, but the school expects him to make a full recovery.
In Self’s place, Norm Roberts will once again step in as the team’s interim head coach. So far, the team is 3-1 in the four games that Self couldn’t coach.
Kansas won its first round matchup vs. Howard relatively easily, defeating the Bison 96-68 on Thursday. The defending champions are looking to get back to the Sweet 16 for a second straight season.
