UPDATE: Officials say the fire started at 1440 Maryland Avenue which is a large two story brick building with a storefront facing Maryland Ave and apartments in the rear.
Crew officials say there was a heavy fire when they arrived on scene.
Officials told 7News that there was an occupant at 1440 but that person got out with no injuries.
Officials also said the fire was exposed to other buildings, 1436 Maryland Ave and 1434 Maryland Ave.
The original building was a total loss and was knocked down into a pile before crews left the scene
All Steubenville crews were on scene and Wintersville fire provided assistance. Weirton, Mingo, Brilliant, Unionport, and other agencies provided other fire standby or EMS assistance.

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (WTRF) –
A multi-structure fire had multiple crews responding in Jefferson County Tuesday night.
Steubenville Fire and Wintersville Fire and Rescue were on the scene and Weirton Fire was toned out to standby at Steubenville Stations.
Officials say it broke out on Ohio Street and an apartment and two homes caught fire.
They say no injuries have been reported.
