UPDATE: Several roads re-open following flash flooding in Ohio County

This all occurred with a heavy band of rain that moved through Wednesday evening

OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) - 9:20 p.m. UPDATE:

According to Ohio County Sheriff Tom Howard, Warden Run Road is still closed near KEY Animal Hospital due to flash flooding.

The Division of Highways worked to clear and re-open GC&P Road, as well as Route 2 in Warwood.

Sheriff Howard is urging people to stay home and stay off the roads, because another band of rain is on the way and could cause the roads to flood again.

The Ohio County Sheriff's Department has shut down GC&P Road due to the creek flooding in the roadway.

According to Sheriff Tom Howard, there are also mud slides on River Road near Gumby's and on Route 2 near the Pike Island Locks and Dam.

Ohio County EMA Director Lou Vargo says GC&P is closed near the Convenient at the bottom of the hill on Route 88.

There are also flooding issues on Peters Run Road.

Vargo said most of the issues are in the northern part of the county, which saw heavy rain with a band of storms this evening.
